Armed Robbery & Death Investigation in Rockcastle County

(London, Ky.) -- On November 7, 2011 at 0241 hours the Kentucky State Police Post 11 London received a call from the Rockcastle County 911 Center of a Armed Robbery with a deceased person. The investigation reveled that James E. Hensley age 20 of Mount Vernon robbed the Shell Food Mart at Exit 59 on I-75 in Mount Vernon Kentucky at knife point fleeing with money and cigarettes. The on duty clerk pursued the suspect and shots where fired. The clerk was not injured and James E. Hensley was pronounced dead. All items taken are believed to have been recovered. The investigation continues by KSP Detective Millard Root. Detective Root was assisted at the scene by the Rockcastle County Sheriffs Office, Mount Vernon Police Department, Rockcastle County Coroners Office and Rockcastle County EMS.
