Fatal collision in Nelson County

(Post 12 Frankfort) -- Unit 1 a blue 1999 Dodge Durango operated by Pamela J. Chapman was traveling west on Highview Church Road. Ms. Chapman's vehicle dropped off the north shoulder of Highview Church Road. Ms. Chapman over-corrected and entered the path of Unit 2, an eastbound 1991 Ford Ranger operated by Estil J. Barnes. Ms. Chapman's vehicle was struck in the passenger side by Mr. Barnes' vehicle and Ms. Chapman was ejected later pronounced dead at the scene by the Nelson County Coroner. Mr. Barnes was transported to the Flaget Hospital in Bardstown and later flown to the University of Louisville Hospital. Both operators were un-restrained during the collision. The collison remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police Post 12 Frankfort.
