Post 12 Memorial Day Holiday 2011 Stats

(Post 12 Frankfort) -- Kentucky State Police Post 12 Frankfort reports that there were no fatal collisions in our seven counties in the Post 12 area during the Memorial Day Holiday 2010. Preliminary data show two people died in two separate crashes statewide.

Post 12 Troopers issued a total of 562 citations during this period
72 citations for speeding
108 citations for seat belt violations
4 child restraint violation
13 DUI arrests
50 criminal arrests
315 other citations

There were 5 traffic collisions investigated and 12 traffic safety checkpoints conducted. This data is preliminary and comes from Post 12 Frankfort.

Kentucky State Police Post 12 provides police coverage for Anderson, Fayette, Franklin, Scott, Shelby, Spencer and Woodford counties.

Traffic safety checkpoints as well as saturation patrols will continue with special emphasis on seat belt violations, speeding and impaired driving.
