Shelby County Man Arrested For Impersonating a Peace Officer

(Frankfort, KY.) -- On Friday, September 23, 2011, at 1107 PM, Tpr. Eddie Whitworth responded to a Shelby County 911 call of a person impersonating a police officer on Golden Rod Court in Shelbyville, KY. Kentucky State Police and the Shelby County Police Department arrived and located the suspect James A. Gray. Mr. Gray refused to cooperate and fled on foot. He was located and had to be tased by Tpr. Whitworth for not complying with officer orders. He was arrested without further incident and taken to the Shelby County Detention Center.

James A. Gray, age 48, of Shelbyville, KY has been charged with Impersonating a Police Officer, Alcohol Intoxication, Disorderly Orderly Conduct 2nd, Resisting Arrest, Fleeing and Evading an Officer and Menacing.

This incident remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police Frankfort Post.
