Robbery investigation in Bath County

Date of News Release: 01/25/2011

(Morehead, Ky.) -- On January 24, 2011 at 1957 hours the Salt Lick BP clerk contacted K.S.P. Post 8 Morehead to report that the business had been robbed by a white male who was armed with a semiautomatic pistol. The subject was 5'7" and weighed around 150 pounds. He was wearing a black zippered hoodie, black ski mask, black gloves and blue jean pants. The male subject entered the business at 1948 hours and pointed a pistol at the clerk demanding that he put his head on the counter and open the register. The store clerk laid his head on the counter and opened the register. The subject then held the pistol to the clerk's head and took $782.00 in cash money from the register. The subject fled dropping $10.00 in $1.00 bills in the parking lot. He is believed to have fled in a Ford truck onto U.S. 60 East toward the Midland area of Bath County. The incident remains under investigation by Detective Larry Bowling.
