Receiving Stolen Property/Firearm Investigation

(Morehead, Ky.) -- On January 24, 2010, Kentucky State Police Morehead received a call for service of an unresponsive male at 87 Ridgeway Drive in Morehead. The male subject at the residence was transported to St. Claire Medical Center in Morehead, KY. Family members arrived the next day and advised there were items missing from the residence. The family members then noticed that some of the missing items were in a vehicle belonging to Gavin Flener, who was staying at the residence. Upon a search of the vehicle, a stolen firearm was seized, along with $1600 worth of stolen prescription medication. Mr. Flener was charged with Receiving Stolen Property and Theft of a Controlled Substance. Mr. Flener has been lodged in the Rowan County Detention Center. The incident remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police Morehead.
