Fatal collision on Little Perry Road in Rowan County

(Morehead, Ky.) -- On April 9th at 3:31 a.m. Kentucky State Police Morehead received a call from Morehead Dispatch in reference to a single vehicle injury accident on Little Perry Road in Rowan County. Zachary Wallace, 23 of Morehead and Michael Henderson, 19 of Morehead were traveling southbound on Little Perry Road in a 1999 Dodge pickup. The vehicle left the side of the roadway, struck an access road and became airborne. The vehicle overturned multiple times, ejecting Michael Henderson from the vehicle. Mr. Henderson struck a fence post and landed in a yard at a private residence. Mr. Henderson was pronounced deceased at the scene by Rowan County Coroner John Northcutt. His body was then taken to the State Medical Examiners Office in Frankfort for an autopsy. Mr. Wallace was later taken to Saint Claire Medical Center in Morehead, KY where he was treated and released with non life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle has not been determined at this time. The accident remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police Morehead Trooper Joe Veeneman.
