Felony Drug Investigation and Arrest in Bath County

(Morehead, Ky.) -- On May 7th, 2011, at approximately 2:16 am, Trooper Anson Tribby of Kentucky State Police, Morehead observed a motor vehicle law violation and initiated a traffic stop on a white 2003 Dodge Durango on Main Street in Salt Lick, Kentucky. After the vehicle was pulled over, its driver, George McKenzie, exited the vehicle, threw pill bottles into the nearby grass, and approached Trooper Tribby. Trooper Tribby detained Mr. McKenzie, and subsequently recovered the pill bottles. The bottles contained a large quantity of suspected Oxycodone, Hydromorphone, Hydrocodone, and Xanax. Mr. McKenzie was arrested, and later lodged at the Montgomery County Detention Center. Mr. McKenzie was charged with Rear License Not Illuminated, Improper Equipment, Menacing, Resisting Arrest, Operating Motor Vehicle Under the Influence Alcohol/Drugs/Etc .08 - 1st Offense, Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense (Drug Unspecified), Possession of Controlled Substance 2nd Degree 1st Offense (Drug Unspecified), Prescription Controlled Substance - Not Proper Contain 1st Offense. The case remains under investigation by Trooper Anson Tribby.
