Felony arrest in Mason County

(Morehead, Ky.) -- On November 25, 2011 around 5:58 pm Kentucky State Police Trooper Anson Tribby observed a 1991 Chevrolet S-10 pickup without the rear license plate illuminated. Trooper Tribby then initiated a traffic stop on US 68 near the junction of KY 324. Trooper Tribby made contact with the driver of the vehicle, Christopher A. Estep who appeared to under the influence. Through further investigation and field sobriety test, Trooper Tribby determined that Mr. Estep was under the influence. Located on Mr. Estep's person were Oxycodone and $2,130.00 cash. Marijuana was also located in the vehicle. Mr. Estep is currently lodged in the Mason County Detention Center. Mr. Estep of Townsend, GA was charged with Rear license plate not illuminated, Possession of open alcoholic beverage container in motor vehicle prohibited, Failure to produce insurance card, Operating motor vehicle under the influence aggravated circumstances 1st offense, Trafficking in controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense, Possession of controlled substance not in proper container 1st offense, Tampering with physical evidence, and Possession of marijuana.
