Post 15 May 2012 Monthly Activity Report

(COLUMBIA, KY) – During the month of May, 2012, there were 25 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor and Washington.

There was eight fatalities during the month of May in the Post 15 area:

Mann, Tanner; Jamestown, KY, was killed in Russell Co., KY on 05/02/12.
Atwood, Justin; Campbellsville, KY, was killed in Taylor Co, KY on 5/5/12.
Sullivan, Jade; Campbellsville, KY, was killed in Taylor Co, KY on 5/5/12.
Morgan, Wilma; Columbia, KY, was killed in Taylor Co, KY on 5/9/12.
Coffman, Earl; Liberty, KY, was killed in Casey Co, KY on 5/14/12.
Brown, Kinley; Glasgow, KY, was killed in Russell Co, KY on 5/27/12.
Goad, Joshua; Holiday, Florida, was killed in Clinton Co, KY on 5/29/12.
Simpson, Betty; Greensburg, KY, was killed in Green Co, KY on 5/30/12.

This brings our yearly fatality count to 18 compared with 13 through this same period in 2011.

State wide fatality count stands at 299 compared with 255 through this same period in 2011.

During the month of May, 2012, there were 1894 citations written, 426 courtesy notices written, 2777 vehicles inspected, 835 complaints answered, 104 motorists assisted, 63 criminal cases opened and 138 criminal arrests made.
