Tennessee Woman Dies In Crash On I-65 In Hardin County

(ELIZABETHTOWN, KY) -- On Monday, August 7th, 2012 at approximately 6:02 p.m. KSP Post 4 Troopers arrived on the scene of a fatality crash at the 87 mile marker on Interstate 65 in Hardin County. The investigation revealed that 27-year-old Jamie Lorraine Stump of Greenbriar, Tennessee was northbound on I-65 traveling in the passing lane. Stump was operating a 1999 Nissan Altima when for unknown reasons lost control of her vehicle. She veered across the right lane of travel and struck a guardrail. Ms. Stump was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hardin County Coroner. KSP was assisted at the scene by the Hardin County EMS and the Glendale Fire Department. Hardin County Animal Control also assisted due to Ms. Stump's dog also perishing in the crash. Tpr. Shannan Tinsley is handling the investigation.
