Date of News Release: 10/24/2012

(Berry, Ky.) A Harrison County man was arrested on charges related to child pornography Thursday as the result of an investigation that spans more than two years.

Allen L. Moredock, 26, is charged with 20 counts of possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor. He was lodged in the Bourbon County Detention Center on a $100,000 cash bond.

Mr. Moredock was arrested as the result of an ongoing undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation that originated from a detective in Florida who was portraying a 14-year-old girl in a popular Internet chat room. The undercover detective was approached by a suspect in the chat room who advised he was a 23-year-old male from Kentucky. The suspect distributed images to the undercover officer that depicted children in sex acts. The suspect also made reference to having sexual contact with a child. Through investigation, it was determined that the suspect was located in Berry, Kentucky and the case was forwarded to the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch.

Detectives with the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch obtained a search warrant for the residence in Berry and seized multiple computers. Those items were later examined by the Kentucky State Police Forensic Lab and more than 1,000 images of child sexual exploitation were located.

On October 18, 2012, an arrest warrant was obtained for Mr. Moredock. He was arrested at his residence that same day without incident. Additional charges are pending.
