Lynch Woman Killed in a Stucture Fire

(Lynch, Ky.) -- Kentucky State Police are investigating the death of an 81 year old Harlan County woman who perished in a stucture fire at Lynch today (04/19/2013). Kentucky State Police 911 received the fire call shortly before 3:00 P.M. and firefighters from Lynch responded. The victim, Marjorie Boggs of Gap Branch in Lynch was transported by EMS from the scene of the fire by to Harlan ARH where she succombed to her injuries.

Boggs' son, 63 year old Robert Boggs of Hueytown, Alabama was also injured in the blaze. He was treated and released from Harlan ARH. At this time no foul play is suspected. The investigation into the cause of the fire is continuing by KSP detectives Michael Cornett and Joshua Bunch. They were assisted at the scene by the Lynch Police Department.
