Drug Investigation Arrests in Laurel County

(LONDON, KY.) -- On Thursday, April 04, 2013 at 4:16 p.m., while on routine patrol, Trooper Ryan Loudermilk conducted a traffic stop on a white, 1995, Jeep, Grand Cherokee for traffic violations.
Upon making contact with driver, Barbara Rickelman, 55, of East Bernstadt, Trooper Loudermilk detected the strong odor of Marijuana emanating from the vehicle and a computer check of the driver's operator license determined that she was wanted on an arrest warrant.
Rickelman was arrested on the warrant and was found to possess various prescription medications on her person. Further investigation discovered Marijuana, prescription medications and cash inside of her vehicle. Rickelman was charged with Trafficking in Marijuana, Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, service of an arrest warrant and a traffic violation. After lodging Rickelman in the Laurel County Detention Center Troopers responded to Rickelmans’ residence to follow up on the investigation.
Upon arrival at Rickelmans' residence on East Branch Road in East Bernstadt Troopers made contact with Rickelmans' husband, William Rickelman, 56, and discovered more drugs and cash. William Rickelman was arrested for Trafficking in Marijuana and Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
Items seized during the investigation and arrests was: 1.5 pounds of processed Marijuana, numerous prescription medications, a large amount US currency and the 1995 Jeep.
Trooper Ryan Loudermilk is continuing the investigation and was assisted by Trooper Brandon Creekmore.
