(Ashland, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police in Ashland will be hosting their 20th annual Trooper Island Golf Scramble on August 2, 2013 at Hidden Cove Golf Course at Grayson Lake State Park. There will be a shotgun start at 0830 hours. All participants will receive gifts and door prizes after the scramble as well as a meal provided by Texas Roadhouse. There will be cash awards for First, Second, Third place and cash prizes for the longest drive and the closest to the pin. All proceeds will benefit Trooper Island.

Trooper Island is located on Dale Hollow Lake in South-central Kentucky and is leased to the Kentucky State Police from the Corps of Engineers. Each year, 32 children, ages 10-12 years from Boyd, Carter, Greenup, and Lawrence Counties are sent to this one-week camp. These are children that may not be able to afford another summer camp, may have had a tragic event occur in their past, or have been recommended by a Trooper.

Persons interested should contact Trooper First Class Michael Murriell, Public Affairs Officer KSP Ashland at 606-928-6421.
