Owensboro Man Arrested for Distributing Child Exploitation Videos

(Owensboro, KY) -- A Daviess County man was arrested on charges related to child exploitation (pornography) Tuesday after the Kentucky State Police and Owensboro Police Department served a search warrant at his Owensboro home.

Robert L. Wright, 46, is charged with Distribution of Matter Portraying a Sexual Performance by a Minor, which is a class D felony. Wright was arrested without incident at 11:30 this morning by the Kentucky State Police and Owensboro Police Department units. He was charged and taken to the Daviess County Detention Center in Owensboro.

Wright was charged by the Kentucky State Police ICAC Task Force as a result of an undercover investigation into the possession and distribution of videos/images of child sexual exploitation. The investigation began on March 27, 2013 which resulted in the execution of a search warrant at Wright's residence in Owensboro on April 23, 2013, by the Kentucky State Police ICAC Task Force; Post 16 detectives; DE/SI detectives and Owensboro Police Department units. Detectives seized evidence that was being used to distribute child pornography and further examination is needed.

More charges on Wright are expected to be filed as early as tomorrow as investigators search additional computer components.

Kentucky State Police is a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC).
