Two Brothers Arrested on Various Charges

(Henderson, KY) - Kentucky State Police responded to the 4000 block of HWY 85 near Centertown after receiving a report of an injury accident. Troopers suspected the operator, Jeff Bishop, of being under the influence of alcohol. While administering the field sobriety tests, Jeff Bishop became combative and assaulted Troopers. While attempting to take Jeff Bishop into custody; Joe Bishop, the brother of Jeff Bishop, arrived on scene and assaulted a Trooper as well. Both subjects were arrested and charged with Assault 3rd degree and Resisting Arrest. Jeff Bishop was also charged with Assault 2nd, DUI 1st, Criminal Mischief 3rd, and Possession of an Open Alcohol Container in a Motor Vehicle. Both subjects were transported to the Ohio County Detention Center.

Jeff Bishop was charged with:

  1. assault, 2nd
  2. assault 3rd deg- police officer or prob officer
  3. resisting arrest
  4. DUI 1st agg circumstance
  5. poss open alc bev cont in motor veh prohibited
  6. criminal mischief 3rd

Joseph Bishop was charged with:

  1. assault 3rd deg- police officer or prob officer
  2. resisting arrest

DUI Injury Collision on KY 85 West

Date of News Release: 10/20/2013

(Henderson, KY) - Jeff Bishop was driving a 2012 Ford F150 traveling westbound on KY 85 West when he veered left through a curve, crossing the centerline leaving the left side of the roadway where the vehicle come to an abrupt stop into an earth embankment. The passenger was life flighted to St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville, IN where she is listed as stable but critical condition. The driver, Jeff Bishop, sustained minor injuries and was transported to Ohio County Hospital where he was treated and released. Mr. Bishop was arrested and charged with driving under the influence 1st offense among other criminal offenses.
