Criminal Arrest of a Lake City Man

(Hickory, KY ) -- On May 3, 2013 at 5:58 pm Senior Trooper Eric Fields stopped a vehicle on Depot Road in Lake City, KY. The driver, Dean Bourgault, fled on foot. Trooper Fields chased Mr. Bourgault for several hundred yards before losing him in a wooded area near Gentry Road. Several other Troopers, along with K-9 Oscar, and Livingston County Deputies, tracked Bourgault for several additional yards before loosing his trail. Citizens in the area called reported seeing him in the area, but officers were unable to locate him when they arrived. Early the next morning, May 4th at 1:23 am., a local citizen called about a prowler in the same area Bourgault was last seen. When officers arrived, they found Bourgault hiding in a vehicle. Bourgault got out of the vehicle and began to fight with both officers. After being tased twice, officers were able to restrain Bourgault without further incident. Bourgault was transported to Lourdes Hospital, treated, released and lodged into the McCracken County Jail. Both officers received minor injuries during the struggle, but did not need medical attention. Monica Harris, a passenger in the vehicle, was cited into court after Troopers found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in her possession.
Charges: Execution of a warrant out of Lyon County for Receiving Stolen Property under $10,000, Three counts of Assault 3rd degree (Police Officer), Improper Parking in a Fire Lane or Blocked Travel Portion of the Highway, Speeding 13mph over the Limit, Operating on Suspended or Revoked OL, Failure to Register Transfer of Motor Vehicle, No Registration Plates, No Registration Receipt, Failure of Owner to Maintain Required Insurance 1st Offense, Fleeing or Evading Police 2nd Degree (on foot), Resisting Arrest, Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree (two counts), Criminal Trespassing 2nd Degree.
