KSP works School Bus Accident in Livingston County

(Hickory, KY) -- On May 10, 2013 at 4:40 pm a Union County School District bus, carrying approximately 21 students and 4 adults was traveling west bound on US 60, in Livingston County, approximately 3 miles east of Smithland, when the operator exited the right shoulder, overcorrected and crossed both lanes before overturning off the east bound shoulder. The driver, Robin Black (49) of Sturgis, was transported to Lourdes Hospital where she was treated and released.

All occupants of the bus were injured, and all were transported to both hospitals in Paducah. All of the injuries have been classified as non-life threatening. KSP Post 1 personnel were assisted at the scene by the Livingston County SO, Smithland & Burna Fire Departments, Livingston County EMS, Mercy Regional EMS, Crittenden County EMS, KY Transportation Cabinet, PHI-Air Medical, Livingston County EM, and Rescue Squad. The investigation continues by Senior Trooper Eric Fields.
