Two Injured in a Collision on US 45 in Graves County

(Hickory, KY.) -- Mr. Jeffery Blake was operating a Yamaha Razz moped, traveling South on US 45 at a slow rate of speed. Mr. Dustin Hawkins was also traveling south and failed to observe the moped, striking it in the rear resulting in both occupants being ejected. Mr. Blake was transported to Baptist Health in Paducah, KY where he was admitted with non-life threatening injuries. A passenger on the moped, Barbara Wilson was transported and later transferred to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tn. for her injuries. Mr. Hawkins and his passengers were not injured in the collision. Mr. Blake was charged with Failure to Maintain Insurance, Driving DUI Suspended (aggravated), Driving Without License- Negligent in Accident and No Helmet. Trooper Pervine was assisted on scene by the Graves County Sheriffs Department, West Viola Volunteer Fire Department and Mayfield Fire & EMS.
