KSP arrests two Murray residents on Murder

(Murray, KY.) -- On July 25, 2013 a Calloway County Grand Jury indicted Hughron Payne, 39 of Murray, KY and Royce Dale Earnest, 43 of Murray, KY, in relation to the fatal house fire in Hazel on June 12, 2013. The fire claimed the life of Patricia Bohne, 32. Both Payne and Earnest were indicted for Murder (class A Felony), Arson 3rd (class D Felony), and Manufacturing Methamphetamine 1st Offense (class B Felony). Payne was additionally indicted for Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree. Both subjects were arrested on Friday July 26th by KSP detectives and lodged in the Calloway County Detention Center. The investigation continues by Detective Brett Miller.

UPDATE: KSP works death investigation from house fire

(Hazel, KY.) -- On Thursday June 13, 2013 an autopsy was performed at the KSP Madisonville lab. The autopsy positively identified Patricia Bohne, 32 of Hazel, KY as the deceased. The death investigation is continuing by Detective Brett Miller.

KSP works death investigation from house fire

Date of News Release: 06/12/2013

(Hazel, KY.) -- On Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at approximately 4:42 A.M. Calloway County Dispatch received a 911 call regarding a residential fire located at 820 3rd Street, Hazel, KY. Firefighters from Hazel Fire Department and Calloway County Fire Rescue responded to the scene.

The fire has claimed the life of an unidentified person. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday morning at the KSP Western Lab in Madisonville, KY to determine positive identification of the deceased and cause of death.

The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental in nature and no foul play is suspected at this time. The fire investigation is ongoing and is being led by the Kentucky State Police Arson Investigator Rick Godsey.

The death investigation is being conducted by Detective Brett Miller. Detective Miller and Arson Investigator Godsey were assisted on the scene by Deputy State Fire Marshall Bill Compton, Hazel Fire Department, Calloway County Fire Department, Calloway County Coroner Office and the Calloway County Sherriff's Department.
