Two-Vehicle Injury Collision on Phillip Stone Way

Central City, KY (Muhlenberg County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a two-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on Phillip Stone Way, in Central City, on Saturday, August 31, 2013, at 12:55 p.m.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Dillion Geary, 20 of Central City, KY, was operating a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound on Phillip Stone Way. Mary Anderson, 45 of Central City, KY, was operating a 2012 Chevy Equinox southbound on Phillip Stone Way. As Mr. Geary entered a curve, he reached down to pick up his cigarettes and crossed the center line into the path of Ms. Anderson, striking her vehicle head on.
Mr. Geary, who was not wearing a seat belt, was transported via ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. Ms. Anderson was flown to Saint Mary's Hospital in Evansville, IN by PHI Air Medical. Ms. Anderson's passenger, a juvenile, sustained minor injuries, but was not transported. Ms. Anderson and her passenger were wearing seatbelts.
Tpr. Jerry Knight investigated the collision. The Central City Police Department, Muhlenberg County Sheriff's Office, Central City Fire and Rescue, Muhlenberg County EMS, and PHI Air Medical assisted at the scene.
