Two-Vehicle Injury Collision on US 62

Greenville, KY (Muhlenberg County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a two-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on US 62, two miles west of Greenville, on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at 7:55 a.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Janet Baxter, 44 of Graham, KY, was operating a 2010 Nissan Xterra eastbound on US 62. Michelle Wright, 46 of Greenville, KY, was operating a 2001 Ford Taurus eastbound on US 62, behind Ms. Baxter and another vehicle. Ms. Wright attempted to pass the two vehicles as Ms. Baxter was attempting to make a left turn onto Luzern Depoy Road. Ms. Wright's vehicle struck the driver's side of Ms. Baxter's vehicle, causing it to exit the roadway and overturn.

Ms. Baxter, and her passenger, a juvenile, were transported via ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. Ms. Wright was not injured during the collision. All occupants were wearing seatbelts.

Tpr. Jerry Knight investigated the collision. The Greenville Police Department, Powderly Police Department, Greenville Fire Department, and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
