Single-Vehicle, Injury Collision on KY 104 Involving DUI

Trenton, KY (Todd County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a single-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on KY 104, approximately four miles south of Trenton, on Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at 3:59 p.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Christopher Wasson, 30 of Elkton, KY, was operating a 1998 Chevrolet S10 southbound on KY 104 when the vehicle exited the right shoulder of the roadway. Mr. Wasson lost control of the vehicle. It crossed both lanes of travel and exited off the left side of the roadway. The vehicle overturned and came to rest on its top.

Mr. Wasson fled the scene and was located approximately 3/10 of a mile north of the scene in a field. He was transported via ambulance to the Jennie Stuart Medical Center where he was treated and released. It is not known if Mr. Wasson was wearing a seatbelt.

Trooper Jeff Ayres arrested Mr. Wasson and charged him with the following offenses:

  1. Leaving the Scene of an Accident
  2. DUI 2nd Offense
  3. Driving DUI Suspended License 1st Offense
  4. Fleeing/Evading Police 2nd Degree (On Foot)
  5. Resisting Arrest
  6. Failure to Notify DOT of Address Change
  7. Owner to Notify Clerk of Address/Name Change

Mr. Wasson was lodged in the Christian County Detention Center.

Trooper Ayres investigated the collision. The Trenton Fire Department and Todd County EMS assisted at the scene.
