Two County Pursuit Leads to Felony Arrest in Barren County

(Bowling Green, KY) -- On Saturday, April 27, 2013, at 3:43 P.M., Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green was contacted by the Glasgow Police Department requesting assistance regarding a pursuit.
At 3:34 P.M., Glasgow Police Department was contacted by the Department of Probation and Parole regarding the whereabouts of Westley T. Graves (23) of Glasgow, KY who was wanted for a Probation Violation. Glasgow Police Officer Brandon Fletcher made contact with Graves and attempted to apprehend him when Graves stole the vehicle he was in and eluded Officer Fletcher leaving the Wal-Mart parking lot. Officer Fletcher and Glasgow Sergeant Mike Burton pursued Graves on KY 90 toward Cave City, KY.
The officer's were able to temporally stop Graves on the North entrance ramp to I65 in Cave City, Kentucky. Sgt. Burton exited his marked cruiser when Graves attempted to run over Sgt. Burton causing Burton to fire four rounds from his issued service weapon. Graves was not struck and continued North on I65 in his vehicle.
Graves then struck Master Trooper Jonathan Holbrook's marked KSP cruiser with his vehicle. Trooper Daniel White was able to end the pursuit when he used legal intervention on Graves' vehicle causing him to strike the concrete barrier wall on I65 near the 70 mile point in Hart County, Kentucky.
Graves was treated for minor injuries at Caverna Memorial Hospital and arrested on the following charges:
- Fleeing and Evading 1st Degree
- Wanton Endangerment- Police Officer (four counts).
Additional charges are pending.
The investigation is still ongoing and is being led by KSP Sergeant Jaman Childers.
