Kentucky State Police Make Arrest for Drug Trafficking

(Richmond, KY) -- On Saturday, March 3, 3013, at 3:26 pm EST troopers assigned to the Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post, discovered narcotics and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop on Colonel Road. Trooper Charles Brandenburg stopped a 2000 Dodge Neon for equipment violations and after further investigation arrested the operator, Douglas Stevens 43 years old of Richmond, for Driving under the Influence.

After further investigation suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were found inside the vehicle. Mr. Stevens was charged with Driving under the Influence, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, two counts of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance First Degree (Methamphetamine and Heroin), Possession of Marijuana and other traffic offenses. He was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.

Trooper Brandenburg is the investigating officer and was assisted at the scene by other KSP personnel.
