Pedestrian Struck by Car, One Arrested

(Morehead, KY) -- On Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at approximately 7:10 a.m., Kentucky State Police, Post 8 Morehead was notified of a vehicle versus pedestrian injury accident on KY 519 South in Morehead. Trooper Keith Howard responded to the scene. Scottie D. Ingle, age 30, of Morehead was operating a 2008 Toyota Corolla southbound on KY 519 South when he attempted to pass a stopped school bus. Mr. Ingle failed to observe a juvenile that was attempting to get on the school bus and struck the juvenile with his vehicle. The juvenile was airlifted from the accident scene to the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY.

At approximately 12:45 p.m., Trooper Keith Howard arrested Scottie D. Ingle in reference to a vehicle versus pedestrian injury accident that occurred earlier this date. Ingle was charged with one count of Wanton Endangerment 2nd Degree, one count of Passing Loading/ Unloading School/ Church Bus 1st Offense, and one count of Failure to Notify DOT Address Change. Ingle was arrested without incident and was lodged in the Rowan County Jail.

Trooper Keith Howard was assisted on scene by Rowan County Fire and E.M.S. The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Keith Howard.
