Injury Collision on KY7 near Wrigley in Morgan County

(Morehead, KY) -- On Monday, February 18, 2013 at 5:42 a.m. K.S.P. Post 8, Morehead received a report of a two vehicle injury accident on KY7 near Wrigley in Morgan County. Trooper Royse Collett responded to the accident scene. Betty Salyers, age 59, of Sandy Hook was operating a 2008 Chevrolet Impala south on KY7 when she struck a 2002 International rollback operated by Sammy Lewis, age 61, of West Liberty. Sammy Lewis was traveling north on KY7 and was attempting to back into a private drive on the southbound side of KY7 when Ms. Salyers struck him in the driver's side bed. Betty Salyers was airlifted from the accident scene to St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia where she is listed as having non-life threatening injuries. Sammy Lewis did not sustain any injuries during the accident. The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Royse Collett.
