Two Charged with Wanton Endangerment In Bell County

(Arjay, Ky.) - On February 01, 2014 at approximately 9:26 p.m. Post 10 Harlan received a call from Bell County Dispatch advising that the Bell County Volunteer Fire Dept had responded to a vehicle fire next to a residence in the Arjay community of Bell County. Firefighters stated that upon their arrival to extinguish the vehicle fire, a white male came outside the residence armed with a firearm and began cursing and fired upon them and then went back inside the residence. Post 10 had troopers in close proximity and upon their arrival they began attempting to make contact with the individual inside by phone and loud speaker but were unsuccessful. Post 10 troopers surrounded the house and KSP Special Response Team was activated. Upon arrival several attempts were again made by phone to make contact and were also unsuccessful. Chemical agents were then tossed inside the residence. At that time, the individuals came outside the residence and were placed into custody without further incident.
Vance Miller age 44 and David Lefevers age 37 were both charged with wanton endangerment 1st and lodged in the Bell County Detention Center.
