Former Teacher arrested in Harlan County

(Evarts, Ky.) - On April 2, 2014 Detectives with the Kentucky State Police post in Harlan executed a search warrant at the home of former Harlan Independent School teacher, Kevin S. Crider, 41, of Evarts. Detectives Craig Miller, Josh Howard, and Jason Joseph removed several pieces of computer/ electronic equipment from the residence as a result of the search. Crider was arrested and has been charged with eight counts of Distribution of Obscene Matter to Minors, fifteen counts of Distribution of Matter Portraying Sexual Performance by a Minor, and one count of Use of Electronic Device to Entice a Minor. Crider was lodged at the Harlan County Detention Center and is being held on $150,000 cash bond. This investigation is being conducted by Detective Craig Miller.
