Knox County Murder Investigation

(Scalf, Ky.) - Kentucky State Police are investigating a murder in the Scalf Community of Knox County. Post 10 Harlan received a call at 5:19 a.m. requesting assistance from the Knox County Sheriff's Department in reference to a male subject being shot.
Preliminary investigation indicates that two unknown males armed with firemarms made forced entry into a residence through the front door identifying themselves as law enforcement. A struggle took place between the homeowner and one of the intruders, who then, shot the homeowner. Both intruders left the residence in a maroon 4-door Ford F-150 with tinted windows, chrome steps and a chrome front push bar. Donald Mills, age 29 of Scalf, KY was transported to the Knox County Hospital by his wife where he was pronounced dead. Mr. Mills' body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Frankfort for an autopsy. At this time, no arrests have been made. This case is still under investigation by Kentucky State Police Detective Bryan Johnson. KSP was assisted at the scene by the Knox County Sheriff's Office.
