Bledsoe Teen Killed in a Collision on US 421

(Baxter, Ky.) - On May 31, 2014 at 5:43 PM Kentucky State Police Post 10 received a 911 call of a one-vehicle collision on US 421 in the Baxter Community of Harlan County. Trooper Brandon Burton responded and noticed the vehicle was on fire with the driver trapped inside. At that time, Tpr. Burton requested the fire department to assist with controlling the fire.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the driver, Cody Fultz, 18 of Bledsoe, lost control of his vehicle while traveling south on US 421 and left the roadway and overturned. Cody Fultz was pronounced dead at the scene by Harlan County Deputy Coroner Jim Rich. A passenger in the vehicle, Bradley Lloyd of Harlan was taken to Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital by Harlan EMS. His condition is not known at this time.

The collision is still under investigation by Trooper Brandon Burton.
