Knox County Murder Investigation

(Walker, Ky.) - On September 5, 2014 at approximately 11:20 a.m. Kentucky State Police, Post 10 Harlan received a domestic violence complaint between a father and son on Body Shop Lane, in the Walker community of Knox County. While troopers were responding to the domestic, a second call came into Post 10 that a shooting had taken place at the residence.
Preliminary investigation suggest that Harold Carnes, 61, of Walker and Travis Carnes, 37, of Flat Lick were involved in an argument inside of the father's residence. Troopers found Harold Carnes inside the residence deceased from a gunshot wound. Travis Carnes was arrested at the scene and charged with murder. Travis Carnes was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
At this time the body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Frankfort for an autopsy.
