Knox County Drug Arrest

(Corbin, Ky.)- On October 20, 2014 at 2:46 p.m. Trooper Chad Gregory from Post 10 Harlan made a traffic stop on a 1996 Ford F-150 on Standard Ave in the Corbin community of Knox County. While Tpr. Gregory was approaching the vehicle he noticed two backpacks in the bed of the truck. Through his investigation it was determined that both backpacks were full of items to manufacture methamphetamine. Four individuals were inside the pick-up at the time of the traffic stop. Tpr. Gregory arrested the driver of the vehicle, Brian S. Smith, 32, of Corbin and charged him with the following:

  1. Manufacturing Methamphetamine 1st offense
  2. Unlawful possession of meth precursor 1st
  3. 2 counts of possession of a controlled substance 1st degree 1st offense (Meth)
  4. Failure to wear seatbelt

Passenger, Casey M. Smith, 33, of Woodbine was arrested and charged with the following:

  1. Manufacturing Methamphetamine 1st offense
  2. Unlawful possession of meth precursor 1st
  3. Possession of a controlled substance 1st degree 1st offense (Meth)
  4. Possession of a controlled substance 1st degree 1st offense ( Drug unspecified )

Passenger, Pamela S. Hensley, 31, of Corbin was arrested and charged with the following:

  1. Manufacturing Methamphetamine 1st offense
  2. Unlawful possession of meth precursor 1st
  3. Possession of a controlled substance 1st degree 1st offense (Meth)

Passenger, Anthony W. Martin, 27, of Corbin was arrested and charged with the following:

  1. Manufacturing Methamphetamine 1st offense
  2. Unlawful possession of meth precursor 1st
  3. Possession of a controlled substance 1st degree 1st offense (Meth)
  4. Tampering with physical evidence

All four individuals were lodged in the Knox County Detention Center. Case is still under investigation by Tpr. Chad Gregory. Tpr. Desmond Brittle from Post 10 also assisted with the traffic stop.
