KSP Post 11, London to host sixth Citizens Police Academy

(LONDON, KY.) - Kentucky State Police, Post 11 is now accepting applications for the 2014 Citizens Police Academy. The 11-week academy is slated to begin on Monday, March 10, 2014 and will conclude on Monday, May 19, 2014. Students will meet on Monday evenings from 6:00 to 8:30 PM, They will learn about the many facets of the Kentucky State Police including patrol, criminal investigations, and drug investigations. The academy will provide some hands on exercises and is meant for informational purposes only and will not give students police powers.
The classes will be held at the Laurel County Health Department, located at 525 Whitley Street in London, KY. Applications can be obtained by contacting the Kentucky State Police, Post 11 at (606) 878-6622 or by visiting http://www.kentuckystatepolice.org/posts/post11.html.
Anyone 18 years of age or older, living within the Kentucky State Police, Post 11 District is welcome to apply. All applicants will be subject to a background check.
The KSP Post 11 District consists of the following counties: Laurel, Clay, Rockcastle, Pulaski, Whitley, McCreary and Wayne. There is no cost to attend and participants must attend 80% of the classes to graduate.
