Drug Arrest and Investigation in Whitley County

(LONDON, KY.) - On Thursday, June 26, 2014 at approximately 12:15 AM troopers Tony Dingess and Les Moses were conducting a pre-approved traffic safety checkpoint at the intersection of US 25 and KY Hwy 1193 in Whitley County when a 1998 Dodge pickup truck being operated by James Rose, 27, of Corbin stopped at the check point.

During roadside questioning, troopers discovered Rose to be nervous and fidgeting and observed him concealing something in the vehicle. A search was conducted and troopers discovered Rose to be in possession of 9 grams of crystal methamphetamine, marijuana, digital scales, drug paraphernalia, two hundred and fifteen dollars cash and a semi automatic hand gun.

Rose was arrested and lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center on charges of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, Possession of Marijuana under 8 Ounces, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Felon in Possession of a Handgun and several traffic charges.

Trooper Tony Dingess is continuing the investigation and was assisted by Trooper Les Moses and Trooper Josh Cox.
