Robbery Investigation in Laurel County

(LONDON, KY.) - On Saturday, August 23, 2014 at approximately 10:30 PM, the Kentucky State Police Post 11, London received a report of a carjacking at Emma's Place Apartments in Laurel County.
The female driver was approached by a male subject brandishing a knife. After a brief struggle, he fled the scene with her cell phone and 2007 Kia vehicle.
The vehicle was later located by Corbin Police Department at a residence on Beatty Avenue. The suspect fled on foot and was lost in the area.
On Wednesday, August 27, 2014, Roger D. Ramey, Jr., 26, of Corbin, KY was arrested and charged with Robbery in the 1st Degree and Theft by Unlawful Taking. He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
