UPDATE: Anderson County Man Arrested After Firing Shots At Police

(Lawrenceburg, KY) - Arrested in the incident, Timothy Nutgrass, age 49, of Lawrenceburg, was charged with Attempted Murder of a Police Officer (8 counts), Criminal Mischief 1st and Fleeing and Evading 1st. Nutgrass was transported to the Shelby County Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing by Kentucky State Police.

Anderson County Man Arrested After Firing Shots At Police

Date of News Release: 03/17/2014

(Lawrenceburg, KY) - On Monday, March 17, 2014, at approximately 7:16 PM, the Kentucky State Police Post12 Frankfort assisted Anderson County Sheriff's Department investigate a harassment complaint on Mays Road, Lawrenceburg, KY.

Upon arrival, the subject being investigated began firing shots at officers. Units moved to a position of cover and established a perimeter. After unsuccessful negotiations, the subject attempted to flee the residence in his vehicle, striking an Anderson County Sheriff's cruiser, disabling his vehicle. The subject was taken into custody without further incident.

The investigation is continuing by Kentucky State Police Post 12. Charges are pending.

Kentucky State Police were assisted at the scene by Anderson County Sheriff's Department, Lawrenceburg Police Department, and Anderson County EMS.
