KSP Arrest Shelby County Woman After an Alleged Hit and Run

(Frankfort, KY) - On April 27, 2014, Kentucky State Police investigated an alleged hit and run collision involving a Shelby County Deputy's wife and a Shelby County woman who fled the scene of the accident.
Within minutes of receiving the call, Troopers located Katherine Burnett, age 29, of Shelbyville, operating a 2003 Chevrolet. One passenger, a minor child, was in the vehicle at the time of the traffic stop. Burnett was arrested and lodged in Shelby County Detention Center, charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Reckless Driving, DUI 1st, Aggravated Circumstances, Endangering the Welfare of a Minor, Failure to Use Child Restraint Device, Wanton Endangerment 1st, Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st Degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Prescription Controlled Substance not in Proper Container. Further charges may be pending.
Kentucky State Police were assisted in the investigation by Shelby County Sheriff's Office.
The investigation continues by Kentucky State Police Post 12.
