Letcher County Business Robbed Early Sunday Morning

(Isom, KY) - On Sunday, March 2, 2014, Kentucky State Police Post 13, in Hazard, received a call advising that the Isom Double Kwik, located at 9722 HWY 15 South, in the Isom community of Letcher County, had been robbed. Troopers were dispatched to the scene, to investigate the call.
Upon arrival, it was determined that an unknown male subject had entered the store, at approximately 2:08 a.m., armed with a hammer. The subject demanded cash from the employee, and took the cash drawer from the register. The perpetrator fled the store on foot, with approximately $404.59, and was last observed heading in a northbound direction on KY 15. The suspect is described as a white male, wearing a purple and blue striped, hooded jacket, camouflage pants, dark boots, and gloves. The store employee was unable to give an accurate physical description of the subject. No one was injured during the commission of this robbery.
After speaking with witnesses, a search of the area was conducted, but no suspects were located. This incident remains under investigation by KSP Post 13 in Hazard.
