Armed Robbery at Letcher County Business

(Isom, KY) - On Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at approximately 4:06 a.m., Kentucky State Police Post 13 in Hazard received a call from an employee with the Isom Double Kwik, advising that the store had been robbed at gunpoint. A KSP Trooper was dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival by KSP, the employee was located, and found to be unharmed. The employee advised that a white male subject, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing between 165 and 175 pounds, entered the store wearing navy blue coveralls and a light colored beanie cap, brandishing a black handgun. The perpetrator demanded money, and took the cash drawer from the register, before exiting the store. The subject was last seen on foot, traveling in a northbound direction, toward KY Highway 15. It is unknown at this time how much cash was taken from the store.
The trooper investigating the robbery viewed the store surveillance system, then conducted a search of the immediate area, but was unable to locate the offender. This incident remains under investigation by KSP Post 13.
