Felony Arrest - Attempted Murder in Carter County

(Ashland, KY) – The Kentucky State Police have arrested a Carter County resident after investigating a domestic violence related shooting.

On Saturday April 19, 2014 at approximately 944 am The Olive Hill Police Department responded to 1165 Eastland Drive in Olive Hill, KY for a domestic dispute. Upon arriving at the residence it was determined Lisa Tackett, age 49, of Olive Hill, KY had received a single gunshot wound to the neck. At that time Olive Hill Police Department contacted The Kentucky State Police Post 14 and requested a Detective respond to the scene.

Troopers and Detectives responded to the scene and began an investigation into the shooting. During the course of the investigation it was determined Robert Tackett and Lisa Tackett had engaged in a verbal argument, which became physical and escalated to the point Robert Tackett assaulted Lisa with a firearm. Mrs. Tackett was transported to a medical facility for treatment and currently is in stable condition.

On April 21, 2014 Robert A. Tackett, age 47, of Olive Hill KY, was arrested lodged in the Carter County Detention Center and charged with:

Olive Hill Police Department, Olive Hill Fire Department, Carter County Department of Social Services and Carter County EMS responded and assisted at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing by Detective Jeff Kelley.
