Felony Kidnapping Arrest - Lawrence/Carter County

(Ashland, Ky.) - The Kentucky State Police have arrested a Mount Olive, North Carolina resident after receiving a report involving the possible kidnapping and sexual assault of a fifteen year old female juvenile.
On September 21, 2014 at 330 am The Kentucky State Police Post 14 Ashland received a report which involved Larry T. Swinson Jr. traveling from Mount Olive, North Carolina to meet with a fifteen year old female juvenile in Louisa, KY. It was also reported Swinson was engaged in a sexual relationship with the juvenile and had planned on taking her from Kentucky to another state.
Trooper Josh Satterly began the initial investigation and was able to track Swinson and the juvenile to a hotel in Grayson, KY. Troopers responded to the location and located both Swinson and the juvenile. At the time of his arrest Swinson was in possession of several pills (Type unknown)
During the course of the investigation it was determined a relationship developed between Swinson and the juvenile on a social media networking site. Over the course of eighteen months Swinson had traveled to Louisa, KY on several occasions, taken control of the juvenile and engaged in sexual acts. (The juvenile's parents were unaware of the ongoing relationship between Swinson and the juvenile.)
On September 21, 2014 at Larry T. Swinson Jr, age 43, of Mount Olive, NC, was arrested lodged in the Carter County Detention Center and charged with:
- Kidnapping - Minor (1 count) Lawrence County Charge
- Kidnapping - Minor (3 counts) Carter County Charges
- Rape 3rd Degree (3 counts) Carter County Charges
- Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree - Drug Unspecified (2 counts) Carter County Charges
Additional charges are pending in North Carolina on completion of this investigation.
