Two Arrested in Daviess County on Drug Charges

(Henderson, KY) -- On September 30th, 2014 at approximately 9:15pm, Kentucky State Police conducted a traffic stop on a red 1999 GMC Yukon on the US 60 Bypass near the Audubon Parkway in Owensboro, KY. While approaching the motor vehicle Trooper Donahoo could detect a strong odor of marijuana coming from the driver's side window. The operator identified as Dewayne Napier gave consent to search the vehicle. Trooper Donahoo located numerous marijuana plants that had just been cut and tied up in a bed sheet in the back of the vehicle. The driver was taken into custody and charged with Trafficking in Marijuana greater than 5 lbs and numerous traffic offenses. A passenger in the vehicle identified as Dione Napier was also arrested during the incident and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Trafficking in Marijuana greater than 5lbs. Both subjects were transported and lodged at the Daviess County Detention Center.
