Criminal Investigation and Arrest in Owensboro, KY

(Henderson, KY) - On October 21, 2014 at approximately 7:45PM Kentucky State Police conducted a traffic stop on a green 1996 Ford Ranger on KY54 at Gateway Drive in Owensboro, KY. Upon approach, troopers could detect an odor of Ether coming from the driver's window and asked the driver, identified as Edward J. Brandenburg, to exit the vehicle. Mr. Brandenburg exited the vehicle and submitted to standard field sobriety tests roadside and was placed under arrest for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated. With signs of criminal activity present inside the vehicle troopers asked and were given consent to search vehicle. During the search troopers located ingredients used to manufacture methamphetamine. Mr. Brandenburg was transported and lodged at the Daviess County Detention Center on the charges of Manufacturing Methamphetamine – 1st Deg, 1st Offense, Operating Motor Vehicle u/Influence Alcohol/Drugs/Etc – 1st Offense, No Seat Belt.
