KSP accepting applications for Post 1 Citizens Police Academy

(Hickory, Ky.) -- Kentucky State Police, Post One, is now accepting applications for the 2014 Kentucky State Police Citizens Police Academy. The 10-week academy is slated to begin on March 18th and conclude May 20th. Students will meet Tuesdays from 6:00 to 9:00 PM, where they will learn about the many facets of the Kentucky State Police including patrol, criminal investigations, and drug investigations. Students will also get to take part in simulated law enforcement training during the course.
The Academy's first week will be held at the Kentucky State Police Post on Highway 45 in Graves County. The following nine weeks of the academy will be held at the Murray Calloway County Transit Authority (MCTA) located at 1111 Transit Way, Murray, KY. Anyone 18 years of age or older with no criminal history, living within the Kentucky State Police, Post One district is welcome to apply. All applicants are subject to a background check. There is no cost to attend this training. Class size will be limited to the first 30 approved applications.
