Wanted man by KSP arrested in Colorado

(Hickory, KY.) - William J. Timms 45, of Park Hills, MO was arrested on February 10, 2014 in El Paso County, Colorado on warrants obtained by the Kentucky State Police. Timms was extradited back to Kentucky and lodged in the Christian County Detention Facility February 20, 2014.
The Kentucky State Police began an investigation for fraudulent checks that were passed in Trigg and McCracken County in October 2013. Initial investigation resulted in a warrant being issued in October 2013 at which time the subject was entered as wanted by KSP. Further investigation resulted in additional warrants being obtained in Trigg and McCracken County in November and December 2013. The fraudulent checks totaled over $213,000.00.
Timms was charged in Trigg County with 8 counts of Theft By Deception - Including Cold Checks u/$10,000 more than $500 (Class D Felony), 5 Counts of Theft By Deception - Including Cold Checks $10,000 or more (Class C Felony), 1 Count of Theft By Deception - Including Cold Checks u/$500 (Class A Misdemeanor). Timms was also charged in McCracken County for 1 Count Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree (Class D Felony).
The investigation is continuing by Trooper Michael Robichaud.
