Graves County Resident Arrested on Drug Charges

(HICKORY, KY.) - The Mayfield Post of the Kentucky State Police (KSP) initiated a criminal investigation last month after receiving information that spans nearly one year regarding illegal drug trafficking by a Graves County resident. KSP detectives executed a search warrant at 802 North 12th Street in Mayfield today, after the investigation led detectives to believe there were large amounts of marijuana being sold from the residence that was near a local church and a playground.

Detectives seized approximately eleven pounds of processed marijuana, a quantity of cocaine, and several different types of controlled substances. In addition, detectives seized cash and other evidence relating to the sale of illegal narcotics. KSP arrested Jim Bob Pierce, IV (31) and charged him with the following offenses: Trafficking Marijuana-5 or more pounds; Possession of Controlled Substance-1st Degree (cocaine); Trafficking in Controlled Substance-1st Degree (morphine); and Trafficking in Controlled Substance-2nd Degree (greater than 10 dose units of schedules I /II controlled substances (pills-Xanax & Lortab). Pierce was lodged in the Graves County Jail. KSP expects additional criminal charges in the near future.

KSP was assisted by the Sheriff's Departments of Marshall & McCracken Counties, as well as the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, & Explosives (ATFE).
