Two Injured in a Collision on the Julian Carroll Purchase Parkway

(Mayfield, KY) - On August 03, 2014 at approximately 5:58 P.M, The Kentucky State Police responded to a one vehicle collision. The collision occurred near the 5 mile marker southbound on the Julian Carroll Purchase Parkway, in Hickman County Kentucky.

Preliminary investigation indicated that Mr. James Anderson, 64, of Water Valley, KY, was operating a 2009 GMC pickup traveling south on the Julian Carroll Purchase Parkway. Mr. Anderson became ill and tried to pull off the side of the road. Mr. Anderson lost consciousness and ran off the road. Ms. Sandra Smith, of Fulton, KY, was a front seat passenger in the vehicle. Both parties sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported to Parkway Regional Hospital in Fulton, KY.

The Kentucky State Police was assisted on the scene by the Fulton County Sheriff's Department, Fulton County EMS, Hickman County EMS and Water Valley Fire. Trooper Coppersmith is conducting the investigation into the collision.
