Pursuit and Arrest

(Hickory, KY ) - The Kentucky State Police is investigating Mr. Hubert Hickman Jr., 31, of Harrison, TN, after he lead troopers on a 6 mile chase. The pursuit started after troopers observed Mr. Hickman traveling at a high rate of speed, west bound on I 24 at the 35 mm. Mr. Hickman exited off I 24, at the 31mm, traveled north onto Dover Road, then turned right on the Jake Dukes road. Mr. Hickman traveled approximately 2 miles on Jakes Dukes Road before turning around at the 800 block and traveled back south on Jake Dukes Road until he turned left onto Morris Drive, traveling a short distance before re-entering Jake Dukes Road. Mr. Hickman turned right onto Ky 453 for approx a mile, and then turned right onto Landrum Cemetery Road. Troopers observed Mr. Hickman inside the cemetery where had then fled and traveled back south on Ky 453 towards I 24. Mr. Hickman proceeded on to I 24 west bound, until he reached the base of Cumberland River Bridge on the Livingston County side. Mr. Hickman then abandoned his motorcycle and fled on foot towards the river where he was apprehended without further incident. After an initial investigation it was discovered the motorcycle was discovered stolen out of Tennessee.

Mr. Hickman has been charged with the following: 2 counts speeding, failure to or improper signal, disregarding stop sign, reckless driving, possession of controlled substance 1st degree methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, receiving stolen property under $10,000, theft of motor vehicle registration plate, fleeing or evading police 1st degree motor vehicle, fleeing or evading police on foot, operating on suspended, failure to surrender revoked license, failure of non owner operator to maintain insurance, dui 1st, fugitive from another state. He has been lodged in McCracken County Jail. The investigation is ongoing by Trooper Brad Ramsey.

The Kentucky State Police was assisted on scene by the division of Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, The Lyon County Sheriff's Department, Livingston County Sheriff's, and Livingston County EMS.
